Phosphorylation Signalling in Health and Disease
Primary area of interest of my group
My current research focuses on post-translational modifications (PTMs), with a particular emphasis on phosphorylation and acidophilic kinases such as protein kinase CK2 and FAM20C. Ongoing projects aim to elucidate PTM-mediated regulatory mechanisms within diverse signal transduction pathways. This involves detailed studies of both the enzymes, their functions, regulation, and interaction partners, and their protein substrates, including the physiological and pathological roles of PTMs. A central goal is to understand the functional relationships between enzymes and specific substrates, as these kinases represent promising pharmacological targets for the treatment of various human diseases.
